Radio Girl

Have you ever Dreamed of working in radio? I have ever since I was about 12 years old, I would dance to all the hot songs they played I would listen all day and then here it comes they would start to talk right over the music. I would always wonder how are they doing that, to me it sound like they were having a blast or a party at work, Then I found out that  really they was just using a fake voice cause in person they don’t talk  like that or  sound like they do over the airways at all. There were all kinds of stars that would be on the radio and all I could do is think how can I do that kind of work, I always thought it was always a good time when the radio was playing, you know when your song comes on and you feel that music can’t nobody tell you nothing and  you just start getting it and what I mean by getting it is dancing and you don’t care who’s watching. Yeah those were the days, well what do you know I’am just that A Radio Girl! and it is nothing like what I thought not one bit, well let me let you in on a little secret  I mean deadlines, van hits, live remote, setting up, paperwork, voicetrack ordering this ordering that it’s so much that’s not even half of it, one paper has to go threw like five people before it’s appoved, needless to say you may get to that second person and there like “oh hell no we ain’t doing that shit” those are real words from a radio PD. People see me and they think I’m rich but not at all maybe if I hit the lotto or PCH come knocking at my doorI really thought that you got paid well to do radio but you don’t and  it’s more like under paid. For real come on who goes five years strong without a rasie, then soon as the  wages go up you get 15 extra cent not dollars but cents wow! who knew. I will say this on the up side of radio whenever any concert is around or in the city you better belive it they will get any and all tickets to everything not only that  they meet A,B, and C list stars that come by along with there rep’s and with there new cd’s or single wanting you to put it in rotation, but they work them before they do anything when you hear stars talking on the radio there reading from a paper it’s called a drop sheet, can you belive that only in  radio but the interviews of  the stars are not off paper that’s real. Sometime if the station wants to be really nice they will order lots of food and feed the stars or if they real big mega stars we all go out to eat at a high price place were you would never go on your dime with but since it’s on the radio station order up, I guess that’s where that rasie money I asked for is going.(hehe) it’s kool and I do have lots of fun, but that still don’t pay the bills. let’s not forget about all the free music you can get, sometimes stars give them to you or their rep’s will and that how you never buy a cd again that’s only if you work at a radio station or if you download free off the net..(lol) oh and if the PD likes you and yall cool that helps to cause if yall not you should be looking for another job  cause nine times outa ten they looking to replace you anyway. Now if you think you gone move up the corprate latter think again, you will be put on the back bunner like old greese,  you will be so shocked to see that there’s no room to grow in any position within a company you give your all to on a daily, and they wonder why they can’t keep sales rep’s and employees  you treat them bad and they get mad  it’s almost like a girlfriend and boyfriend relationship sometimes everything is all it can be and other days not so bright on again off again type thing, overall I guess I’m not getting drity and I don’t work real hard so at the end of the day I still don’t get my worth but it’s better than welfare or nothing.
